Here is a pic with the Rockford HX2 12" installed, with the Kicker VR12 grill. If you look closely you can see the fiberglass strips that have been laid along the top/bottom/right side to make the box airtight.

Here is how I "boxed in" the rear door's latch and handle with cardboard prior to covering it in fiberglass to make the rear door airtight.
